Local Attraction

Yamba is a wonderful coastal resort overlooking the mouth of the Clarence River and surrounded by beaches and national parkland.

With its own fleet of prawn trawlers and some of the finest seafood to be found in Australia, Yamba is one of the prettiest fishing towns on the Far North Coast.

Yamba's picturesque patrolled main beach has an adjoining rock pool and it is a great experience to view the fleet from nearby Lighthouse Hill as it heads seaward at dusk.

Amateur anglers regard Yamba as paradise. You can choose between the finest rock, beach, estuary or deep sea fishing spots.

Just south of Yamba, Angourie is well known to the surfboard set and for its fresh water "Blue Pool". This is the northern tip of Yuraygir National Park and the park provides excellent picnic facilities as well as one of the most spectacular coastal walks in New South Wales.

The Clarence River is prime oyster farming country and tourists usually head to one of the many fresh seafood shops to taste the fine local produce.

Yamba's a great place for a holiday. Don't forget to bring your fishing rod.
