The setting for Rathkell Farm Cottages is on lush dairy land dotted with black and white cows, real fairytale stuff, and as you wind down the hill from Fitzroy Falls, it will take your breath away. Gumnut Chalet and Love Shack have television, stereo/CD player and video (the TV reception is poor, so we advise renting videos from the local Barrengarry Store or Kangaroo Valley General Store).
The township is quaint with gift shops, cafes, a lovely old pub and even a restaurant boasting one chefs hat from the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide. Just out of town is the Kangaroo Valley Country Club for golfing enthusiasts plus the river and its various offshoots is very popular for canoeing and kayaking.
Just over the hill is Berry township and Seven Mile Beach - a beautiful unspoilt beach great for swimming, surfing and fishing. Also within driving distance from Kangaroo Valley are places such as Bowral, Moss Vale and historic Berrima to the west, Hyams Beach and Nowra to the east and Robertson to the north. Rathkells Farm is just a few miles out of town, but, as they say, a million miles away from cares.
